Central Maine Egg Festival

History

The Central Maine Egg Festival has traditionally been
a celebration of the brown egg industry and is held
annually on the fourth Saturday of July in Manson
Park. It is the event of the year in Pittsfield.

Activities are held for the preceding four days, with a
parade and the Kiwanis Karnival held on Saturday.

The Egg Festival Committee begins early in the year
planning the event, with numerous civic groups
participating to hold events or set up booths.

In addition to the parade, there is a scholarship
pageant, an Early Bird Breakfast, chicken barbeque,
street dance, "Egglympics," craft fair and fireworks.
The Kiwanis Karnival offers rides & booths.

The Central Maine Egg Festival offers an opportunity
for not only the community, but the entire Sebasticook
River area, to celebrate with family and friends and for
civic groups to raise needed funds for all their good
                            works.

Kiwanis Karnival

The Kiwanis Karnival started many years prior to the

Central Maine Egg Festival.  The Kiddie Parade on
Thursday night of the Festival starts off the Kiwanis
Karnival.  The Fireworks at 9:45 PM on Saturday,
which are sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Pittsfield,
are the ending event of the Festival.

When down on the grounds during the Festival, please
visit the many Kiwanis booths to help them raise the
funds they use for all their good works.  The Kiwanis
provide all the rides, games, kiddie games, hot dog,

Kiwanis Karnival and generously sponsored by the
                            Kiwanis Club of Pittsfield.

The funds raised by the Kiwanis during the Egg
Festival are given back to the area communities
