The
Summer
of 2005: Farmer's Markets
I want to plant a seed in your mind.... heard that one
before?? I have heard from a few crafters about how they enjoy
attending Maine's Farmer's Markets as a vendor to sell their
crafts. I will be working through the winter on this
project. To see how many would be welcome to having crafters, who
create their product, much like the local Farmer does, by hand, along
side their produce and other Farmer's Market staples. I think it
will be a great mix and can only help to increase the Market's
popularity, attendence and growth.
So.... If you know of any organizers of Farmer's Markets or any farmers
that sell there, ask them about the idea. Plant the seed for a
possible additional venue to sell arts and crafts in 2005. Any comments, suggestions or
contacts, email them to me at dale@CRAFTAH.com.
APRIL
2005 UPDATE:
I've sent the word around to the head of the Maine State Farmers
Market organization and to several of the State's Farmers
Markets. A majority of them returned that there was either A) no
space to include Artisans/Crafters, B) they simply did not include
other vendors or C) they did not return emails/calls.
There are still a few out there I KNOW include arts and crafts vendors
that have not gotten back to me.
There is one nice lady who has confirmed, and that information went out
with the
March Update to the Directory.
Thank you for considering your local Farmers Market. If you hear
anything do let me know and I'll let others know. Thanks!!
